About Blackwattle Community

Empowering Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities through culture, creativity, and connection

“To strengthen Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities through cultural connection, creative expression, and sustainable development.”

At Blackwattle Community Creative Aboriginal Corporation, we are dedicated to preserving and celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures while creating pathways for community empowerment, education, and economic opportunity.

Our work spans across cultural knowledge transmission, creative arts, youth leadership, community wellbeing, and sustainable development initiatives that honor traditional wisdom while embracing innovation.

Our Story

Blackwattle Community Creative Aboriginal Corporation was founded in 2020 by a group of Aboriginal Elders, artists, and community leaders who recognized the need for culturally grounded programs that address contemporary challenges while honoring traditional knowledge and practices.

Named after the blackwattle tree, which has provided food, medicine, and materials for Aboriginal peoples for thousands of years, our organization symbolizes resilience, connection to Country, and sustainable growth.

Beginning with a small cultural knowledge program in Moree, NSW, we have since expanded to deliver programs across multiple communities, working in partnership with Elders, local organizations, government agencies, and corporate partners who share our vision.

Today, Blackwattle Community Creative Aboriginal Corporation is a registered charity and Aboriginal Corporation that serves communities across Australia, guided by the wisdom of our Elders and the energy of our young people.
