Cultural Knowledge Program Expands to Five New Communities
We’re excited to announce the expansion of our Cultural Knowledge Transmission program to five new regional communities across NSW and Queensland, thanks to new funding from the Indigenous Languages and Arts Program.
The expansion will enable more Elders to connect with young people and share traditional knowledge, language, and cultural practices.

Cultural Weaving Workshop
Join Elder Aunty May for a traditional weaving workshop where participants will learn techniques passed down through generations. All materials provided and the workshop is suitable for beginners.
This workshop is part of our Cultural Knowledge Transmission program and is open to all community members.

A full-day forum for young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 16-25 to connect with mentors, develop leadership skills, and explore pathways to education and employment.
The forum will feature keynote speakers, interactive workshops, and networking opportunities with potential employers and education providers.

Join us for the opening night of “Connecting Cultures,” an exhibition featuring works by artists from our Creative Arts Initiative. The exhibition showcases traditional and contemporary Aboriginal art across various mediums.
The opening night will include a Welcome to Country, cultural performances, and an opportunity to meet the artists. Light refreshments will be served.

Revitalizing Language Through Digital Storytelling
In a groundbreaking project combining traditional knowledge with modern technology, Elders from the Gamilaraay community have been working with our Digital Storytelling program to create interactive language resources.
Over the past year, the project has documented more than 500 words and phrases, created animated stories in language, and developed a mobile app that community members can use to learn and practice their traditional language.
“Language is the carrier of culture,” says Elder Uncle Ron. “When we revitalize our language, we strengthen our connection to Country and to our ancestors. This project is helping us ensure that our grandchildren will grow up knowing who they are and where they come from.”
